Cologne Opera is one of the leading opera houses in Europe. Great names of singers and conductors are associated with the history of this house, whose artistic reputation has found expression not least in important world premieres.
Over 1,300 seats are available in the opera house on Offenbachplatz, built by architect Wilhelm Riphahn, whose purist elegance has provided a worthy setting for opera evenings in the cathedral city on the Rhine since 1957.
Currently, the Bühnen Köln on Offenbachplatz are still undergoing fundamental renovation. An opening date has not yet been set. Until then, the Staatenhaus in Cologne-Deutz will serve as an alternative location.
