Works from different eras and styles

The award-winning Fukio Saxophone Quartet will bring a captivating chamber music program to the Kunsthafen in Rhenania on March 9, 2025. Renowned for its tonal diversity and technical finesse, the ensemble will present works ranging from minimalist-modern to folkloristic-romantic influences. The repertoire spans from original compositions like "Ciudades" by Guillermo Lago, which makes famous cities come alive through sound, to arrangements of traditional string quartets such as Antonín Dvořák's "American Quartet."

Highlights also include Jacob TV's multimedia piece "The Body of Your Dreams," which translates speech fragments into soundscapes, and Russell Albright's "Pypes," showcasing the saxophone's impressive versatility. With Morten Lauridsen's "O Magnum Mysterium" and Marc Mellits' "Tapas," the quartet embarks on a contrasting sonic journey.

Since 2007, the Fukio Quartet has been exploring the range of saxophone chamber music and is regularly celebrated on international stages and at festivals, including the Young Euro Classics in Berlin and the Romanischer Sommer in Cologne. Their combination of artistic depth, historical awareness, and vibrant interpretation makes their concerts a truly unique experience.
