The quirky, wistful indie pop of Matching Outfits, a trio of Berliners by choice, was compared by tipBerlin to a "Super 8 film from the attic of your parents' house". The lyrics by Swedish frontwoman Linnea Mårtensson depict the great losses and small inconveniences of life with heartbreaking, sometimes comical details, while clear keyboard chords and lovely three-part harmonies turn into dissonant freakouts and shout-along choruses.
Slipper was formed in 2019 by songwriters Sean Armstrong and Rachel Taylor, but when Jakub Tyro-Niezgoda joined them in 2020, they felt like a real band.
